Over the weekend, the women’s tennis team was back in action at the Hawthorn-Rooney Courts against a shorthanded opponent in Seton Hall University. The Rams were victorious 5-2 as they made their long-awaited return to the home courts. They were scheduled to play Davidson College and Saint Joseph’s University the week before, but both matches were either postponed or canceled.

Fordham opened the match against Seton Hall by winning the doubles point. After the Rams won the third doubles by default, junior Nicole Li and freshman Eleni Fasoula teamed up to take second doubles and secure the point for Fordham. The Rams then won the fourth, fifth and sixth singles by default. The final point for Fordham came from Senior Arina Taluyenko, who won in straight sets 7-5 and 6-2 in first singles.

With the win against Seton Hall, the Rams improve their overall record to 2-1. Fordham was scheduled to play against La Salle the following day, but the away team had to withdraw due to injuries and illness. Their next match will be against Quinnipiac University at the Hawthorn- Rooney Courts next Saturday as they try to achieve three wins in a row for the team.
