Piling into Rodrigue’s Coffee House and the McShane Campus Center, room 112, Fordham University students gathered in droves at debate watches hosted by the university’s College Democrats and College Republicans on Sept. 10. Last night, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump faced off in a tense 90-minute exchange hosted on ABC News, after weeks of uncertainty about Trump’s commitment to the debate. Student opinion has been varied. This election is the first for many students on Fordham’s campus.

Since May of 2024, there has been an outbreak of listeria cases in the United States resulting from deli meat. One of the deli meat companies that has recalled items is Boar's Head, which is has a deli on Rose Hill campus. Students have expressed concerns about Fordham's lack of communication regarding deli safety.

Over the summer, Fordham started installing kepSmart sensors throughout Walsh Hall. The sensors are meant to be an energy smart way to regulate heating in the building.

USG started their latest meeting with special elections to fill numerous open senate seats. They also discussed Ram Vam ticketing and the study abroad process.

Two Fordham students developed a plan to use their meal plan extras to aid the Fordham community. The students purchase meals and food items for those suffering with food insecurity with unused meal swipes and dining dollars.

Fordham University appointed their first director of Jewish life and chaplain as part of Campus Ministry. The director, Rabbi Katja Vehlow, will also be the on-campus Rabbi.

A Fordham student who participated in Summer Undergraduate Research Program worked as a laboratory assistant studying neuroscience and inhibitory receptors in the brain. The research focus is on potential effects of stress on protein subunit alteration.

Fordham recently appointed a director of Muslim life to their staff at Campus Ministry. Appointed director, Imam Ammar Abdul Rahman, comes to Fordham from the Interfaith Center of New York.
