Fordham Young Democratic Socialists Association (YDSA), an unofficial club, hosted a Plan B distribution on Feb. 19 outside of the Lincoln Center campus. The YDSA members distributed Plan B along with pamphlets. The distribution coincided with the launch of their new form for students to request Plan B. 

Fordham is replacing Argo Tea at Lincoln Center with an entirely student-run coffee shop, Saxbys. All of Saxbys employees, including the CEO, will be students, and the storefront is set to open in the fall.

Students nominated faculty members for Fordham's Arts and Sciences Teaching Awards last month. These awards honoring excellence in teaching the humanities will be presented in early March after the Arts and Sciences deans review the nominations.

Fordham recently appointed Thomas Massaro, S.J., professor of Moral Theology and associate director of the Center for Ethics Education, as the new Lawrence J. McGinley Chair in Religion and Society. Fordham announced the appointment on Jan. 9 in a Fordham Now article, three months after Massaro signed the contract for his new position.

During their weekly meeting, Fordham’s United Student Government Counseling and Psychological Services presented their initiatives. They also discussed changes in the rules around students running for the USG Executive Ticket and shared their experience at a recent student leadership summit.

Dr. Christopher Hunt, an Assistant Professor of Religion at Colorado College, visited Fordham's McNally Amphitheater to speak about his book. Fordham University Press published his book “Jimmy’s Faith: James Baldwin, Disidentification, and the Queer Possibilities of Black Religion,” this past December.

The Student Life Council met with Assistant Vice President and Dean of Students at Rose Hill Christopher Rodgers and Vice President of External Affairs Travis Proulx to discuss the impact of recent executive orders on the Fordham community. Rodgers and Proulx fields questions about Diversity, Equality and Inclusion, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and artificial intelligence.

Fordham Dance Marathon is more than just a dance group. They are an organization that fundraises to support the fight against pediatric cancer. During this academic year, they have raised $40,000, and their most recent auction played a significant role in increasing that total.
