Fordham University Men’s Basketball Head Coach Keith Urgo has been placed on a four-game suspension in conjunction with an NCAA investigation regarding recruiting violations.
Fordham’s self-imposed suspension of Urgo begins this Wednesday, Jan. 22, and will last through Feb. 1. Assistant Head Coach Tray Woodall will fill in for the four games with Loyola University Chicago, Duquesne University, La Salle University and St. Bonaventure University.
The investigation comes during the university’s centennial celebration of the Rose Hill Gymnasium. In a statement published on Jan. 16, university spokesperson Bob Howe stated, “Fordham has and will continue lending full cooperation to the NCAA during their investigation, including following the NCAA’s bylaws to maintain confidentiality. Therefore, we’re unable to share any more details on the matter at this time.”
This is a developing story.
