• Danny McGowan Named A-10 Rookie of the Week
Fordham freshman swimmer Danny McGowan received his first career weekly award with a Rookie of the Week honor. McGowan was a key contributor in Fordham’s 188-92 victory over Fairfield on Friday, Nov. 10 winning the 800 SCM freestyle with a time of 8:43.19 and helping the 200 SCM freestyle relay grab first place with a time of 1:38.45.
• Eight Men’s Soccer Players Receive A-10 Awards
Fordham Men’s Soccer had the most players selected to All-Conference teams since entering the Atlantic 10, with eight players being selected. Senior defender Matthew Lewis, senior midfielder Jannik Loebe, junior forward Janos Loebe and junior goalkeeper Rashid Nuhu were selected to the All-Conference First Team, while sophomore defender Joergen Oland was selected to the second team. Senior midfielder Eric Ohlendorf earned All-Academic honors for the second consecutive year, and freshmen midfielders Andron Kagramanyan and Jacob Bohm were selected to the A-10 All-Rookie Team.
• Miller-Tolt, Jahns Receive MAWPC Weekly Awards
Two water polo players were selected as weekly award winners, with Fordham sophomore driver Jake Miller-Tolt winning Offensive Player of the Week and senior goalkeeper Alex being named Defensive Player of the Week. Miller-Tolt wins his third award of the season and the fourth of his career, while Jahns recorded his third of the year and fifth of his career. In a Rams win against then #16-ranked Brooklyn, Miller-Tolt scored four goals and notched an assist, while Jahns made a career-high 18 saves in the match.
• Men’s Basketball Signs Two Letters of Intent
The Fordham basketball program announced that Chris Austin (Pasadena, Calif./Maranatha) and Nick Honor (Orlando, Fla./Lake Highland) signed National Letters of Intent for the 2018-2019 season. Austin is a 6-4, 195-pound guard, while Honor is a 5-10, 190-point guard.
