Frank McLaughlin Enters Westchester Hall of Fame
Fordham University athletic director emeritus/ associate vice president of student affairs for athletic alumni relations and external affairs Frank McLaughlin was inducted into the Westchester Sports Hall of Fame on Oct. 19 at the Westchester County Center. McLaughlin served as athletic director and executive director of intercollegiate athletics and recreation throughout his 27-year tenure at Fordham. He oversaw projects such as the renovation of the Bahoshy Softball Field, Jack Coffey Field and Murphy Field, as well as success in 26 conference championships for the program.
G’mrice Davis Named to Two Preseason First Teams
On Monday, Oct. 23, senior forward G’mrice Davis was named to the Preseason First Team All-Conference and All-Defensive teams. She became the second Ram in program history to average a double-double throughout the season, averaging 14.6 points and 12.8 rebounds per game, finishing second in the country in the latter category.
Jacob Bohm Included in College Soccer News Team of the Week
Freshman Jacob Bohm received a selection to the College Soccer News Team of the Week on Monday, Oct. 23. Bohm recorded his third game-winning goal of Fordham’s 2017-18 campaign in a 2-0 victory against Rhode Island. He has scored three goals in his last five games, ranking third on the team behind forwards Janos and Jannik Loebe.
Andrew Mevis Named Special Teams Player of the Week
On Monday, Oct. 23, freshman kicker Andrew Mevis received the first award of his college career, as he was honored as the Corvias Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week. Mevis nailed three field goals in Fordham’s 17-9 win over Georgetown, accounting for over half of his team’s points. Mevis added to his stats with eight punts for 324 yards, averaging 40.5 yards per punt and placing three kicks within the Georgetown 20.
