Well, the biggest stage in sports is set with a kickoff in Atlanta, Georgia in two weeks and the matchup could not be better. After beating the young and explosive Kansas City Chiefs 37-31 in overtime, the Patriots are going to their third straight Super Bowl and their fourth in the last five years. They look to capture their sixth championship in franchise history. They will have to battle the Rams’ young coach Sean McVay and quarterback Jared Goff. The Rams went into New Orleans to beat the Saints 26-23 in an overtime battle ending with a 57-yard field goal by Greg Zuerlein.

Everyone can say what they want about Tom Brady and Bill Belichick but at the end of the day, Brady is the greatest player of all time. He is now going into the ninth Super Bowl of his career at the age of 41. Every time the Chiefs scored in its back and forth game, he remained calm and drove down the field to get the job done. Passing for 348 yards and a touchdown, Brady is now 3-0 in postseason overtime games. Going into a 15 degree Arrowhead stadium and facing the MVP favorite Patrick Mahomes, Brady and the Patriots battled until the end. Rex Burkhead punched the Patriots’ ticket to the biggest event in football with a two yard rushing touchdown.

The Rams, on the other side, have made it to the Super Bowl for the first time since 2001 – when they faced Tom Brady. Sean McVay was in high school when Brady was played that game, and it was the first of many rings he won. The Rams have won only one Super Bowl in franchise history. The Rams faced an uphill battle, entering the Superdome, where Brees went 6-0 in the playoffs. With a very controversial call on Tommy Lee Lewis late in the game, the Saints would have won if it had not been for a blatant Pass Interference that officials completely missed. That makes two years in a row the Saints have lost in crucial ways, last year’s coming from a missed tackle by New Orleans’ Marcus Williams that allowed for a walk off miracle by the Vikings.

So what did the Chiefs and Saints do wrong, and what is expected from them next year? Well, probably the same thing. Both teams have high hopes for the 2019-2020 season and they both played hard and fought battles on Sunday, only losing by a single play. The Chiefs just got unlucky because they had to face the best quarterback-coach combination of all time. There is much more in the tank for Brees, and Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is just getting started on his career; they will be back

So who is the favorite? Both teams have explosive offenses that can score quickly. There are big names on both sides of the ball, with possible Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald, and Offensive Player of the Year Todd Gurley. But once again, how can you bet against Brady and Belichick, the greatest of all time?
