A total of four international students at Fordham University have had their visas revoked as of April 10, according to a Fordham University webpage called “Updates on Evolving Political Landscape.” This marks an increase from the previously reported two revocations as of April 8.

Fordham University has joined 85 other institutions in support of an amicus brief that challenges President Donald Trump’s recent executive orders. The brief, titled AAUP v. Rubio, argues that the recent moves by the White House to remove international students’ visas have “created a climate of fear.”

Fordham Students for Justice in Palestine organized a rally outside Fordham's Lincoln Center campus in support of a Fordham student whose visa was revoked. They called on Fordham's administration to be transparent and support affected students.

Fordham is launching a new faculty survey tool, the Student Evaluation Survey (SES), this month to replace the Students’ Evaluation of Educational Quality (SEEQ) Survey. The SES has been streamlined from 41 to 15 questions. A successful pilot program received positive feedback from students and staff.

Fordham's Faculty Senate passed a resolution calling the University to protect and affirm academic freedom. They argue it is vital to protect the free exchange of ideas, especially because of the University's role in educating informed citizens. This resolution comes as the Trump Administration takes action against higher education institutions and academic freedom.

Almost 200 students gathered outside of Keating Hall on April 5 for Fordham's second annual "Of out the Darkness Campus Walk." The event was held to raise awareness for suicide prevention.

Fordham announced a hiring freeze and budget cuts for the 2026 Fiscal Year. As the University navigates decreasing class sizes, the graduation of its largest class and budget deficits, the University’s Chief Financial Officer, Tokumbo Shobowale, says the university has to prioritize financial stability.
