High-ranking student leaders at Fordham University submitted four letters alleging administrative delays and inadequate support under Assistant Dean for Student Involvement Catharine McGlade. The single letter of no confidence recieved 123 signatures from student leaders. The Ram interviewed twenty-five current and former students and employees for more details on this developing story.

In an email sent on Feb. 13, the Office of Student Employment (SEO) announced it would be reducing the amount of hours student employees could work per week from 15 hours per week to 10 hours per week. The change went into effect on Feb. 22. Students comment on how the reduction in hours affects them and their work.

Last week, president Tania Tetlow gave a speech to faculty, administration and staff regarding the Trump administrations recent decisions regarding educational institutions nationwide. Students, including reporters from the Fordham Ram, were not allowed to attend the speech, but professors commented on Tetlow's address.

Fordham’s Initiative on Migrants, Migration and Human Dignity received a $670,000 grant from the Cummings Foundation. The money will allow them to expand their internship program and involve more Fordham students and faculty with the initiative.

Bernadine Gurning, FCRH ’25, is conducting a research on aging in the brain and cognitive decline. She surveys groups of younger and of older participants using Qualtrics and hopes to present her research at a symposium in April.

As Fordham students begin their housing selection process over the next few weeks, students share the factors they take into account when searching for where they would like to live. Whether on or off-campus, through Fordham housing or an outside real estate group, Fordham students weigh the pros and cons of where they might live next year.

Fordham University’s Office of Information Technology (IT) collaborated with the Accessibility Committee to expand students resources with the introduction of free access to Speechify. Speechify is a widely used text-to-speech platform with potential benefits for students with print disabilities, such as dyslexia, visual impairments and physical disabilities that make reading difficult.

The New York City Charter Revision Commission held a Bronx Public Input Session in the third-floor ballroom of Fordham’s McShane Campus Center on March 4. Commissioners and council members shared testimonies regarding revisions to the charter’s Land Use and Housing sections.
