Mike Magpayo is set to become the new head coach for the men’s basketball team, Fordham University announced March 29.

Fordham University received a $100 million grant to build a new STEM building on campus. This is the largest gift in the university's history and will go towards Fordham's efforts to improve its STEM program.

During a recent meeting, USG senators discussed proposed bylaw changes and a bill regarding students' right to free speech on campus. They heard presentations about upcoming internship events and updated accessibility maps. The Office of Student Involvement presented about Commuter Week and Spring Weekend.

Fordham hosted its second annual Catholic Women Speak event. Catholic women are invited to share their experiences, have conversations and hear from speakers from a variety of other universities. There were about 100 attendees, ranging from people from local high schools to others tuning in virtually from around the country.

This year, 15 Fordham students have earned this prestigious fellowship. Approximately 400 scholarships are awarded annually by the Fulbright Scholars Program. Fordham looks to continue strengthening this program.

Fordham University's Out of the Darkness Walk returns to campus on Saturday, April 5. Students will walk around the Rose Hill campus. Organizers hope the walk provides a space for students to have conversations about mental health issues and create a support network for those affected by suicide.

The Commuting Students Association (CSA) introduced an umbrella rental program called "Rainy Day Rentals." This is part of their broader efforts to strengthen community engagement and improve the commuter student experience.

Fordham senior Maeve McClure is researching memory. She finds that memory is a more complex phenomenon than previously thought. She plans to present her project at the Undergraduate Research Symposium and to the Vision Sciences Society in May.
