Joseph DaProcida, FCRH ’25, takes his responsibilities as vice president of student life in Fordham University’s Rose Hill United Student Government seriously and uses his Army ROTC background to successfully plan events for the Fordham community.

As a Bronx native, Angel Madera, FCRH ’26, draws upon his lived experiences and passion for community to promote inclusion as vice president of communications in Fordham University’s Rose Hill United Student Government (USG). Madera, at first skeptical of USG's impact, has since found that the organization is crucial to improving student life at Fordham.

Three former residents of the Bronx have filed a lawsuit against Fordham University and the Archdiocese of New York that accuses both institutions of negligence in a priest’s sexual abuse of children on Fordham’s Rose Hill campus in the mid-to-late 1970s. 

Marriage Pact, an organization originating from Stanford University to match students with their soulmates, returned to Fordham recently. Students filled out a research-backed questionnaire that was then used to match them up with a compatible other participant. Over 1500 Fordham students completed the questionnaire, which recently released match results.

Scaffolding went up outside of Keating Hall as construction began on the roof. Construction closed off the staircase towards John Mulcahy Hall and caused diversions for students and faculty.

Fordham held the 2024 awards ceremony for the Ann M. Sperber Book Prize at Lincoln Center on Nov. 11. The prize is given out annually to honor a journalist's outstanding work. The 2024 award winning was Jane Ferguson for her memoir "No Ordinary Assignment" which detailed her early years in journalism, particularly while covering conflict in Afghanistan and the Middle East.

Fordham Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education is one of 18 Catholic institutions participating in Haciendo Caminos. Haciendo Caminos is an initiative to help support the educational journey of future pastoral leaders for Hispanic communities. The initiative recently held an event where current Haciendo Caminos fellows spoke about their experiences.

Fordham senior Marie Gregory participated in the Calder Summer Undergraduate Research program over the summer. She conducted research that built off her work from during the school year in the Vector Lab. Gregory's research focuses on mosquitoes and ticks to give information to the state health department.
