After six seasons at the helm for Fordham Men’s Basketball, head coach Jeff Neubauer will be leaving the program, effective immediately. The news was first reported on Tuesday afternoon by Fordham University alum Andrew Bogusch on Twitter, and subsequently confirmed by the school through a press release on Fordham Athletics’ website. Ed Kull, Fordham University’s interim director of athletics, went on to thank Neubauer for his time at Rose Hill through a statement.

“Fordham Athletics appreciates Coach Neubauer and his commitment and leadership to our men’s basketball program over the past six seasons,” said Kull. He also went on to say, “We are grateful for Jeff’s hard work and dedication, and thank him for his service to Fordham. We wish him and his family the best in the future.”

Throughout six-plus seasons in the Bronx, Neubauer accumulated a 61-104 record during his tenure with the program. For his career, Neubauer is 249-238 in 16 seasons as a head coach. Associate head coach Mike DePaoli has been named the team’s interim head coach for the remainder of the season while the University begins conducting an immediate “national search” to find a permanent replacement.

The Rams currently stand with a 1-7 overall record, having gone 1-7 so far in Atlantic 10 Conference play. Fordham is in the midst of a five-game losing streak after a loss over the weekend to the University of Rhode Island and are currently last in the nation in scoring offense, averaging just 49.9 points per game this season.

Fordham Men’s basketball will be back in action on Wednesday evening, as the Rams continue A-10 play by hosting Duquesne University in the historic Rose Hill Gymnasium at 6:00 PM on ESPN+ and WFUV 90.7 FM.
