Kenny Starts Season in Style
Senior Mary Kate Kenny picked up right where she left off last year. She set two track and field records at the Ocean Breeze Open, including her own school record in the 60 meters, finishing first among Division I participants in an ECAC-qualifying 7.67 seconds, and a new record in the 200 meter, finishing first in 24.68. She topped last year’s marks of 7.68 and 25.07, respectively. Kenny is no stranger to breaking her own program records. She set the 100 meter mark last year, and even showcased a three-week stretch where she sequentially bested her previous school best.
Edmonds Makes his Pro Mark
Chase Edmonds, FCRH ‘18, a fourth-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals, the Patriot League’s all-time rushing leader and a Fordham alum, found paydirt for the first time in his NFL career on Sunday. Oh, and he did it twice. In a win over the Green Bay Packers, the Rose Hill legend carried five times for 53 yards, and punched it in on two separate short-yardage occasions. It is what the Fordham faithful hope is the first of many touchdowns for the former icon in maroon and white.
Honor Continues to Shine
Freshman standout Nick Honor’s game-winning jumper in the lane propelled the 6-1 Rams to another late victory, and padded his stellar personal line in the process. The two-time Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week is averaging just under 18 points per game, and is shooting 47 percent from the field, 33 percent from deep and 95 percent from the stripe. He has also been a workhorse, playing over 33 minutes per game in the Fordham backcourt. The Orlando, Fla. native continues to take the Atlantic 10 by storm.
