• Nuhu, Dziedzic Selected to College Soccer News National Team of the Week
Two players from Fordham’s men’s soccer team were named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week, as junior goalkeeper Rashid Nuhu and sophomore midfielder Bart Dziedzic were selected after their performances in the Rams’ upset win through penalty shootout over sixth-seeded Duke in the Sweet 16. Nuhu made three saves during the game and three saves in the penalty shootout, while Dziedzic scored on Fordham’s first goal and tapped in the second to tie the game in the 86th minute. Both players also converted on a penalty kick each in the shootout.
• Fordham Softball Announces 2018 Recruiting Class
Fordham Softball announced that five players have signed national letters of intent for the upcoming season. Ryan Henry, Maygan Loparo, Julia Martine, Makenzie McGrath and Sarah Taffet will all be joining the softball team in 2018.
• Eight Rams Named to All-Patriot League Teams
On Nov. 21, 2017, eight Fordham Football players were selected to the All-Patriot League teams. Senior offensive lineman Anthony Coyle, junior wide receiver Austin Longi and junior defensive back Dylan Mabin were all named to the first team, while senior running back Chase Edmonds, junior tight end Isaiah Searight, senior offensive lineman Ben Hartman, junior defensive back Antonio Jackson and freshman linebacker Glenn Cunningham were selected to the second team. Longi and Cunningham are two players who had breakout seasons. Despite missing five games due to injury, Longi had 38 receptions and 478 receiving yards, which leads Fordham’s receiving corps. He also returned 13 punts for 163 yards, including a 90-yard touchdown return in Fordham’s season finale. Cunningham was named a finalist for the STATS Jerry Rice Award, leading Fordham with 82 tackles through 10 games, which include 54 solo tackles, 9.5 tackles for a loss and 5.5 sacks.
